Dental emergencies can involve a variety of concerns, including sudden pain, damage to a tooth, or swelling around the teeth or gums. Common issues we may evaluate include severe or persistent tooth pain, broken or cracked teeth, lost fillings or crowns, dental swelling, and injuries affecting the teeth or mouth.
Emergency Dental Examination
When you come to our office with an urgent dental concern, we will evaluate the affected area and determine the cause of your symptoms. Depending on your situation, we may recommend an examination and dental X-rays to help identify the problem. Once we understand what is causing your discomfort, we will explain our findings and discuss the appropriate treatment options with you.
Same-Day Emergency Appointments
We understand that dental emergencies do not always happen at convenient times. When possible, we will make every effort to accommodate patients with urgent dental concerns, including seeing them the same day when our schedule permits. Calling our office as soon as possible allows our team to determine how we can best assist you and how quickly you should be seen.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation
At New Park Dentistry, we understand that dental treatment can feel stressful or uncomfortable for some patients. Nitrous oxide sedation, sometimes called laughing gas, is a mild form of sedation that can help you feel calm and relaxed during your appointment while remaining awake and able to communicate with our team.
Nitrous oxide is inhaled through a small, comfortable mask placed over your nose. It begins working quickly and can help create a more relaxed experience during treatment.
Who Can Benefit from Nitrous Oxide?
Nitrous oxide may be a good option for patients who:
- Feel nervous or anxious about dental treatment
- Have had an uncomfortable dental experience in the past
- Have difficulty relaxing during dental procedures
- Have a strong gag reflex

What to Expect
Before your procedure, we will place a small mask over your nose and have you breathe normally through it. Within a few minutes, you may begin to feel calm and relaxed. You remain conscious and can communicate with our dental team throughout your appointment.
When treatment is finished, the nitrous oxide is discontinued and you will breathe oxygen for several minutes. The effects typically wear off quickly, allowing you to return to your normal activities once you have recovered and our team determines that you are ready.

We work with trusted, state-of-the-art dental laboratories that use these digital impressions to create high-quality, customized restorations for our patients.
What Is an Intraoral Scan?
At Newpark dentistry we utilize a small handheld Medit scanner to capture detailed images of your teeth and surrounding tissues. As the scanner moves throughout your mouth, the images are combined to create a three-dimensional digital model that our dental team can view and evaluate.
Why Use Digital Impressions?
Digital impressions offer a comfortable and efficient alternative to traditional dental impressions. There is no need for trays filled with impression material, and the scanning process can typically be completed in just a few minutes. The digital model can be viewed immediately and easily shared with our dental laboratories when needed for treatment.
